Oakland Lake lies south of Northern Blvd. adjacent to Springfield Blvd. in Bayside, Queens, basically forming the backyard for the Lakeside Apartments complex. It’s a legal New York State freshwater fishing venue stocked with bass and carp, catch and release only year-round. There’s a wide foot path surrounding the lake, lots of benches, resident and migratory water fowl, huge bull frogs, and tons of turtles and raccoons.
